Taking HUMIRA® for Crohn's Disease?

Some Facts You Should Know

HUMIRA is approved for use to reduce the signs and symptoms of moderate to severe Crohn's disease in adults who have not responded well to conventional treatments. HUMIRA is also approved for these adults who have lost response or are unable to tolerate infliximab. HUMIRA is different than other medications you may have tried. It belongs to a class of medications known as TNF (tumor necrosis factor) Blockers. TNF Blockers block excess TNF which plays a role in the inflammation associated with Crohn’s disease symptoms. Here are some more facts you should know:

  • HUMIRA can work quickly-many people felt a significant difference in their symptoms in just 4 weeks.
  • HUMIRA can reduce or help stop many Crohn’s symptoms, including painful cramps, persistent diarrhea and fatigue.
  • HUMIRA may help induce and maintain remission of Crohn’s disease (stop flare-ups from returning for periods of time). In a clinical trial, 3 times as many patients experienced remission at 56 weeks vs. placebo.
